Happy Earth Day from Charlotte Seen!

Standard

Last weekend I was On The Scene With Charlotte Seen and we celebrated Earth Day with two fashion shows…in a barn!

The gorgeous Rural Hill Barn venue in Huntersville was transformed into a fashion runway during the AGRI-COUTURE Fashion Shows.

Although Mother Nature decided the Earth needed rain during the first part of the day, but she sent nothing but sunshine for the shows.

Models showcased upcycled, recycled, repurposed, sustainable, eco-friendly clothing.

Florals, grass green and all things nature were represented.

Magnificent transformations of preloved items wowed the crowd.

Geisha Girl Garden Party vibes here!

April showers bring May flowers!

Thunder, Lightning and Flowers seem to be represented here.

White Kiku had a cute and sassy presentation with these recycled pieces. The crowd went wild over these two outfits!

Hive & Colony came with the eye candy during their menswear presentation.

Geo In Style once again brought us an incredible designer from their home country of Georgia.

Smaki added an edgy and mysterious vibe to the runway.

Anton & Maxine brought clean lines and monochromatic linen items perfect for a southern summer.

Blue skies, happy little clouds and fun rainbows pretty much described the entire day.

I got to see some other old favorites too! Adaline Griffin, Zethrin, Venancio Tadeo and Snarkeez always blow me away with their creations.

From the beautiful butterflies( my favorite!) to this amazing display of vines, flowers and fairy lights, Charlotte Seen definitely celebrated our beautiful planet.

The Devil Wears Florals

Standard

We all remember that iconic line from Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada, making us forever uncomfortable wearing florals in springtime.

The Spanish Luxury House Loewe went toe to toe with the devil herself on the runway of their Spring ‘23 show.

The show centred around the Anthurium flower and was dubbed “Natural Fake”.

Jonathan Anderson, creative director for Loewe, said after the show “I like this idea of something in nature that looks fake but is real.”

Shoes also played a big part in the show.

From life sized anthurium flower and leaf to deflated balloons, Anderson had his models stepping out to battle Miranda Priestly in style.

“I kind of like that they could be petals or shells. There’s an interesting movement to them. All the shoes were engineered in a way that they are not as they seem, or they have incredible function” he said.

I think it’s safe to say in the battle of the florals between Miranda Priestly and Loewe, Jonathan Anderson made sure Loewe came out on top!

Eye Of The Tiger

Standard

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Vol For Life.

The Lady Vols in their heyday made me a lifelong fan.

However, I somehow ended up going down the Kim Mulkey rabbit hole on TikTok one day and fell in love with this lady’s fashion sense!!

If you don’t know, Mulkey is the Coach of the LSU women’s basketball team.

She’s a Tiger on the sidelines!

The butterfly jackets are of course among my favorite pieces she’s worn.

She can wear Tiger stripes like nobody else can!

My high school principal would be cringing at the thought of stiletto heels on a basketball court lol!

Her jackets and her heels always catch my eye.

Of course she can be casual too.

But it’s the bling that drew me in.

Regardless of what she wears, she’s one heck of a coach. Her team, the LSU Tigers, is the 2023 National Champions in women’s basketball.

It’s the eye of the tiger
It’s the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival…

Kim Mulkey did just that in style.
